Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 18, 2021.

Can you see it? In yourself and in others, can you see character?

Character is your personality’s framework... your spiritual namesake.

And it is not strengthened when things are easy... Character is only strengthened when things are difficult... and you then take the time, in those moments, to shape it yourself.

Wishing that things were easier? The irony is that your character must be strengthened for you to feel complete in life. Humans have more problems and misery when their lives are made too easy, because their character suffers.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his wife Coretta Scott King, all the people who agreed that it was time for change and then acted on that knowledge, voted for it, and lived so that Dr. MLK Jr’s message would continue; they all had/have character. It wasn’t easy, and it was dangerous... they did it anyway. Character matters, even when you think it doesn’t.

Integrity is doing what you say you were going to do, and when you do it without cheating or deceiving... that’s character.

Take as much time to work on your character as you do to work on anything. Take a breath and know that every rough patch has an end built into it, but the strength you get from that patch is permanent if you just take the time and get through that patch.

👉🏼 And remember, a real influencer is the one you think of before you make a big decision in your life. Rarely is that person selling you a make-up kit.

You are most powerful when you are yourself. Love that about you.💜
